PICASSO Renewable Fuel Complex Project
La Rábida Refinery, Palos de la Frontera (Huelva), Spain
Since our very first day, Tecnicas Reunidas (TR) has been a valued partner of SDENG ENGINEERING BUREAU. Over the past 15 years, we have collaborated on numerous large-scale industrial projects worldwide. The PICASSO Renewable Fuel Complex Project is the latest milestone in this trusted relationship.
End User: CEPSA BIOENERGIA SAN ROQUE SLU (CBSR)
Engineering Contractor: Tecnicas Reunidas (TR)
Purpose: Establishment of a new renewable fuel complex within the La Rábida Refinery
Scope of TR: General civil works and structures, fireproofing, steel metal frames, painting, and Tekla modeling
SDENG is responsible for delivering the Detailed Fabrication Model of approximately 1,500–1,600 tons of steel structures, including:
Pipe racks
Process structures
Shelters
Miscellaneous platforms
In addition, our scope covers detailing and model completion to ensure constructability and full compliance with CEPSA specifications and standards.
Beyond the main steel structures, the project also involves a significant volume of miscellaneous items, such as:
1,960 meters of straight handrails
4,800 m² of rectangular grating
This scale highlights the complexity of the project and the need for precision in every stage of modeling and detailing.
The VERDE Renewable Fuel Project is part of CEPSA’s strategy to lead in sustainable energy and the transition to renewable fuels. For SDENG, contributing to this effort demonstrates our dedication not only to engineering excellence but also to projects that support the future of energy infrastructure.
