Blue Point Project

Louisiana, USA

SDENG ENGINEERING BUREAU is proud to announce the beginning of its collaboration with Technip Energies through the Blue Point Project in Louisiana, USA.

This collaboration represents an important milestone for SDENG, marking the expansion of our international partnerships with leading engineering and technology companies in the energy sector.

Through this project, SDENG contributes its structural engineering expertise to a major industrial development, providing specialized engineering services for steel connection design and detailing.

Project Overview

Client: Technip Energies

Project: Blue Point Project

Location: Louisiana, USA

Industry: Energy / Industrial Infrastructure

Scope: Steel connection engineering and detailing for PAR secondary steel structures

Engineering Scope

SDENG has been awarded the engineering and detailing scope for steel connections of the PAR secondary steel structures, covering an estimated total steel weight approximately 800 tons.

The scope focuses on the development of fully coordinated and fabrication-ready steel connection solutions, ensuring compliance with project requirements, design standards, and quality expectations.

Engineering Approach

The execution of the scope follows an integrated structural engineering and BIM workflow, including:

  • Extraction of design forces from the STAAD analytical model and correlation with corresponding members within the TEKLA Structures model.
  • Development of steel connection designs based on the project’s approved standard connection details.
  • Structural verification of each connection using IDEA StatiCa.
  • Integration of connection identification information into the TEKLA model, enabling automated updating of General Arrangement drawings with connection references.
  • Creation of individual, fully detailed 2D connection drawings directly within the TEKLA environment.
  • Optional implementation of fabrication-level information, including plates, welding sizes, and weld preparation details, directly into the BIM model.

Project Contribution

Through the Blue Point Project, SDENG continues to strengthen its position as a reliable engineering partner for complex international energy projects, delivering high-quality structural engineering solutions through advanced digital workflows and BIM-based coordination.

The collaboration with Technip Energies marks another significant step in SDENG’s international growth strategy and reinforces our commitment to supporting global EPC leaders with specialized engineering capabilities.
